study at Janoschka

Interview with Sabrina Ritter

"on the other side"

1. From being a dual student to becoming a full-time Janoschka employee – what has changed for you?

I started at Janoschka as HR Business Partner in October 2022, right after my final exams. My focus in the HR department is on recruitment. What surprised me the most, was to suddenly find myself on the ‘other side’. Instead of thinking over my own cover letter, I was sifting through a pile of applications

to see who would fit well for Janoschka. The next exciting task in the process was the interview stage, where I met the people behind the applications. I am starting to like the name for what we do – Human Resources – better and better. Even in an industrial organisation like Janoschka, everything is about people and relationships.

2. What do you feel are the benefits of dual studies?

Definitely the practical parts, having worked in Kippenheim every three months. This gave me the opportunity to meet many of my colleagues in person, but also get to know the different departments and the scope of activities. It’s amazing, how complex the packaging industry is!

There is so much detail to consider, and it requires a lot of the knowledge and expertise, which our employees bring to their departments. This experience, as well as my growing understanding of what is needed in each department, gives me a clear advantage in my current position as HR Business Partner. I don’t think I’ll ever stop learning at Janoschka – that’s what I like about it.

3. What made you stay at Janoschka?

There are lots of reasons, actually. Firstly, I think it’s the team spirit and how everyone is appreciated across the whole company. Being at the start of my career, this is invaluable experience, as I'm always being supported and I’m able to expand my

knowledge and try new things. Spending time during my studies at one of our subsidiaries in Turkey was also a fantastic experience. Not only did I learn about their approach, but I also got to know the people and a new culture. I think this is very important in HR, where I meet a wide range of different people.
