Target proofs are produced in the design or artwork phase, so that uniform standards and reliable objectives can be defined for the next phases. The RGB files are converted in a CMYK colour space (e.g. ISOcoated or PaCSpace) and printed out on a calibrated printer. These targets are used for the subsequent reproduction as a binding colour template for implementation in the individual printer colour space or for colour separations.
