The cushion screen can be used for normal screening in laser etching: the corners of the cell are not rounded, but are square. The corner points are extended in such a way that the link between two corners becomes rounded (decreasing moon). The special cell form of the cushion screen (cushion point) safeguards the holding of the ink and prevents negative points in the printing image. Due to colour consistency the cushion point is mainly used in lacquer colours.
