Tactile Laquer

Tactile lacquers are used for the targeted refinement of printed surfaces. They provide tactile effects on packaging, for example, and give printed decors an authentic structure. A tactile lacquer can be either a water-based varnish or a UV composite. To prevent bleeding onto the substrate, the lacquers have a thicker consistency and special drying equipment is used according to the composition of the lacquer.

Depending on the substrate, the tactile lacquer is applied with a specially prepared gravure printing cylinder or with a laser-cut rubber roller. The result is a three-dimensional structure with various heights and thicknesses that can be applied either independently of or synchronously with the print image.
