PACKAGING maker Amcor will expand its flexible packaging business with the $238 million acquisition of Aperio Group. Aperio Group has 13 manufacturing facilities in Australia and New Zealand, and one facility in Thailand. It generates annual revenue of about $350 million, Amcor said. Amcor said the acquisition was an important strategic addition to its flexible packaging business in the Asia Pacific region, and would add to its 21 existing manufacturing plants. The purchase would be paid for from existing facilities, Amcor said. The acquisition required approval from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), with a final decision expected on March 29, Amcor said.
