Sächsische Walzengravur becomes a distributor for LasX Industries

Turning a perfectly flexible packaging design into a functional easy-open or breathable packaging requires, among other things, micro and macro perforations, scoring, kiss-cutting, “etching” the elements of product protection, as well as precise cutting operations. LaserSharp® machines from LasX implement these requirements using patented laser control software. The digitally controlled laser technology considerably reduces the set-up effort and requires no tooling costs.

“Due to this distributor partnership, we can offer our customers in the flexible packaging industry a further competitive advantage in converting packaging films,” Jörg Günther, Managing Director of SWG, is convinced. “Our LaserSharp® equipment is recognized as the highest performance technology for easy-open and breathable packaging and our service office in Frankfurt Germany will support SWG in deploying our technology,” adds David Birch of LasX Europe GmbH. “SWG has been a partner of renowned printing companies for decades and therefore has both the best understanding of their requirements and a broad market overview. This makes it our preferred candidate for distributing our high-performance lasers in the German-speaking region of Germany, Austria and Switzerland”.

Founded in 1998 LasX Industries headquarters is located in the USA. LasX Europe’s sales and service office in Frankfurt, Germany ensures short response times and technically substantiated support. The industrial laser systems can be retrofitted into existing slitter-rewinders, pouch machines, laminators, and shrink-sleeve seaming machines. More than 500 installations worldwide as well as continuous further development guarantee state-of-the-art technology for finishing of flexible packaging films and foils, paper, cardboard, and other flexible materials.

SWG has been a manufacturer of printing and embossing forms for gravure, flexo and screen printing since 1890. In addition to the requirements of the flexible packaging industry, the strengths of the company include decorative applications such as wallpaper, napkins, automotive supplies, but also security printing and special electroplating. From design development, image editing and printing form manufacture to print consulting, SWG is a competent partner for printing and embossing. Thanks to its agency as a LasX distributor, this is supplemented by print finishing/postpress. An in-house mechanical manufacturing unit for technical rollers, steel blanks and circumferential enlargements of cylinders completes the portfolio. SWG thus offers wide-ranging support across the entire process chain of producing print products.
