Plain packaging in Turkey

In a move aimed at curbing tobacco sales and discouraging smokers, Turkey will switch to plain packaging for cigarettes and tobacco products from 5 December, Reuters reported. The Agriculture and Forestry Ministry said in a statement that the production of plain cigarette packages would begin on 5 December and that sales of the older, branded packages would stop on 5 January 2020.
