Customer consultant qualification: Production of gravure printing formes for packaging

Producing gravure printing formes for packaging printing begins with choosing the imaging technique. In addition to electromechanical engraving, there is also XTreme engraving, engraving by means of a different laser technology and various etching processes. The method used depends on the requirements of the particular printing forme. In many cases, it is possible to use a mix of various methods for one cylinder set, thus benefiting from the strengths of each process. The topics covered range from cylinder bases to the application of galvanic coatings, such as nickel and copper, through to imaging, chrome-plating and grinding of cylinders.
