Constantia Flexibles invests in new equipment at Burgos production site

Austria-based Flexible packaging manufacturer Constantia Flexibles is making an investment towards new equipment at its production facility in Burgos, Spain. The investment is intended for the deployment of a new narrow web printer and narrow web adhesive lamination machine. The deployment is expected to be completed by the middle of next year. The company expects that the €4m investment will help cater to the growing demand for packaging from home and personal care (HPC) industry.

The Burgos production facility has been supplying foil-based flexible packaging for more than 80 years. The firm has around 500 staff at the Burgos and Logrono manufacturing facilities in Spain. Constantia Flexibles CEO Gerold Riegler said: "This investment not only increases operational efficiency due to its focus on short-run batches, but also underlines our clear commitment to provide the best product and service to our customers."

Constantia Flexibles manufactures flexible packaging products and labels and supplies its products to diverse industries such as food, pet food, pharmaceuticals, and beverage. The company has 3,000 clients and 10,000 staff across the world. Production takes place at the company's 53 sites across 23 countries. Constantia Flexibles recently acquired Australia-based Pemara Labels to expand its offerings for the labels market in South East Asia. Pemara Labels delivers self-adhesive, in-mould and Fix-a-Form leaflet labels across industries in the Asia-Pacific region. The Pemara deal was the second acquisition for the Austrian company last year, the first being the acquisition of Afripack.
