Janoschka Academy: Repro-to-Print

Developing new packaging requires complex processes and expertise. For brand owners, the priority is the consistent appearance of their branding on the shelf. The expertise needed to achieve the desired result, and the parameters to be taken into account, have been vividly conveyed at a ‘repro-to-print’ seminar, held by Janoschka Academy.

Under the ‘Janoschka Academy’ umbrella, Janoschka offers a wide spectrum of workshops, lectures and courses on various prepress topics, sharing its expertise with customers and partners along the supply chain.

The ‘repro-to-print’ seminar, which took place at the end of June at Janoschka’s headquarters in Kippenheim, had been tailored exclusively to 12 participants from the international inks manufacturer Siegwerk. The prepress process and its challenges in general, as well as the requirements for a successful cooperation of the various supply chain partners, dominated the agenda.

The gravure prepress process is marked by the interaction of a multitude of parameters, which were illustrated through printing forme production and print colour management. Janoschka print consultancy experts described common problems at the printing press and demonstrated solutions. The two-day event was completed with a tour of Janoschka’s state-of-the-art cylinder production facility, producing more than 40,000 gravure cylinders for the FMCG industry at the Kippenheim site alone.

“Janoschka Academy offers individual training formats to customers and other interested parties, who wish to acquire a deeper insight into the contexts of the prepress process. We also provide a broader, cross-process perspective, whilst focusing on individual process steps as needed and explaining the complex interactions within the process as a whole”, says Falko Klein, Product Manager Training Programs at Janoschka Deutschland.
