Open Classes

We offer individual training formats for our customers and other interested parties who wish to acquire a deeper insight into the contexts of the prepress process via our Prepress proficiency programme. To supplement the participants’ special, in-depth knowledge in their own discipline which is closest to prepress, we offer them a more broadly organised, process-spanning perspective. Depending on needs, we focus on the content of individual process phases and explain complex interplays in the overall process. We jointly define in advance the level of knowledge to be achieved within which framework. For our customers our prepress proficiency programme is a component of our cooperation.

  • Prepress proficiency for designers: Creative agencies are responsible for a brand’s successful visual communication. Furthermore, if the designers succeed in taking account of the pragmatic aspects of the production process, they create double added value. Our training courses begin at this interface. The focus lies on factors which are decisive for the complexity and cost intensity of the production process. This is because minimal corrections, e.g. in the arrangement of motifs or the composition of the colour palette, can have an enormous impact later.
  • Prepress proficiency for marketeers: insight into the technical context of the prepress process is very valuable for marketing managers. A comprehensive understanding of the process is the key to efficient project management and high-quality results. Our training courses communicate valuable fundamental knowledge, but also highlight decisive cross-links so that practical added value can be created. We list the do’s and don’ts of packaging printing and show how high-quality and cost efficiency in production printing can already be safeguarded in the prepress phase.
  • Prepress proficiency for printers: The different parameters in the prepress stage of packaging printing are extremely diverse. Our intensive training courses for printing plants are designed to communicate the exact criteria and contexts that are decisive for an optimum result in production printing. This knowledge is just as essential when advising customers as it is at the printing press. Depending on the individual objective we prepare the content with a more theoretical or practical focus.
  • Prepress proficiency for architects: Nearly all designs, whether intended to simulate natural or individual, can be implemented on facades, floors or furniture fronts. We give architects an insight into the possibilities offered by vibrant surface design. We compare different process techniques and distinguish between their advantages and disadvantages depending on the area of application. The participants get a feeling for how the implementation of innovative ideas can move forward, and can already use this knowledge in the design phase in the future.

Human Resources Development

Our working environment is highly innovative, which is why we ensure that our employees are always appropriately qualified for their individual range of tasks. We can deal flexibly with trends and technological developments via our regular in-house training courses on specific individual topics such as process technologies or Print Colour Management. There are also numerous qualifications beyond specialist competence which are decisively important for us as ‘Quality People’. For example, we are very keen to communicate our understanding of service, project management method and soft skills as part of our corporate culture. We have developed the Future Leadership programme, which introduces a group of selected employees to the foundations of modern management over 18 months, to foster our up-and-coming managers. We have worked out special learning modules on leadership, project management, strategy, finance/controlling, marketing/sales and change management together with an external team of trainers. All of the teaching units are given in English. Selection takes place by application via an assessment centre.

Academic Cooperation

Dual Studies: Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg (DHBW) has emerged as the first dual, practice-incorporating third-level college in Germany from the eight former professional academies in Baden-Württemberg. The trademark of the dual study concept is a regular exchange of theory and practical phases as well as close participation with cooperating companies and social institutes. Because of its third-level college status, the students complete their three-year intensive studies with an academic degree and thus can enter further studies at home and abroad. In addition to Bachelor’s degrees Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg will also offer part-time professional-advancement Masters degrees in the future. As the DHBW’s dual partner we support students from different disciplines in the Technology and Economics faculties to their degree. They receive a continuous payment in the framework of an educational contract.

Supervision: We individually and personally look after students from all (specialist) third level colleges during their diploma, bachelor’s or masters thesis. Our mentors support through their experience and ensure that topics are dealt with on the basis of required practical relevance. In return we take advantage of the neutral external perspective and scientific curiosity which students contribute to complex subject areas with a business or technical focus.
