The production time in the pre-press packaging industry is continually shortening.
?Time to Market? is critical as new products are being quickly developed and must be brought to market just as quickly. Even though the pre-press industry is completely digital today, a time risk remains in the workflow: the shipping of the proofs and the acceptance of the proofs from the customer.
With Remote Proof, the time normally involved in the modifying or correcting of the proofs and receiving the acceptance from the customer can be cut drastically. No longer do the proofs have to be printed and sent via courier to the customer, saving time and money in today?s competitive market.
Instead, the calibrated repro data can be compressed to a ZIP file, electronically transferred and then downloaded and printed at a remote loca-tion. Time and distance are no longer significant.
As long as the customer has ISDN or DSL access, the data can be decompressed on site and output to a calibrated proof printer. No RIP is required, nor is it possible to edit or manipulate the data.

A color management tool (iCColor) is necessary at the remote site to ensure the proof printer accuracy. By using this tool, it is possible to print proofs from a remote location that are identical to the proofs that would normally be printed locally then sent to the customer. ProofOut can be used with all calibrated proof printers which support GMG ColorProof such as EPSON, Canon and HP.
